Eucalyptus Globulus

Eucalyptus globulus- AroMeds Eucalyptus globulus is wild-harvested in Australia. The fresh or partially dried leaves are steam distilled. The plant is in the myrtaceae family. It is a top-middle note with a clearing, fresh, energizing, camphoraceous aroma.


  • Useful for all respiratory conditions as it is rich in the chemical constituent 1,8 cineole. Excellent decongestant for colds, sinusitis and flu, as it stimulates cold receptors in the nares.
  • Has beneficial antiviral and antibacterial action.
  • It is an analgesic, relieving aches, pains, neuralgia, insect bites and headaches
  • Natural insect repellent

Emotional Support- eucalyptus can encourage emotional balance, concentration, centering and rationality.

    Blends well with- cypress, frankincense, balsam fir, geranium, ginger, lavender, lemon, orange, grapefruit, juniper berry, rosemary, balsam fir, peppermint, tea tree, thyme ct thymol

    Notes of interest- According to Battaglia, " Eucalyptus oil was in huge demand during WWI, as it was used to help control a meningitis outbreak and for the influenza of 1919."

    Modes of Application- massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, steam inhalation

    Safety data-  Do not use eucalyptus on or near the faces of infants or children under the age of 10. The 1,8 cineole in the oil can be irritating to those prone to dermatitis. Skin sensitization possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used externally through inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
