Sweet Marjoram increases local circulation and helps carry away toxins in the muscles, especially after heavy exercise. Great in massage oils and a favorite with athletes! It also is helpful as an antispasmodic, added to a carrier, like sweet almond oil, with bergamot, clary sage and roman chamomile for menstrual cramps. It is reputed to promote a more regular menses. Marjoram stimulates digestion, and has the potential to relieve constipation, gas and spasmodic indigestion. If coughing in relation to a respiratory issue is present, marjoram applied as a chest rub can be helpful. It is calming to the nervous system, quieting to the mind, and effective in insomnia blends.
Do not use marjoram when pregnant. Skin sensitization is possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used via inhalation and/or topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified period of time. Keep away from children and pets.
